| K.T. Stands
for Shah Karsandas Tarachand & Company. The entire foundation for
establishing the K.T. Group of companies was laid by the Shah family
hailing from Saurashtra during the first decade of 1900. The persons who
played an important role for establishing itself in Vasai were Tarachand
M.Shah who started a grocery store selling mainly consumer items for then
a small village at Vasai. In 1940, Karsandas Shah started an oil mill at
Vasai village since it lacked proper transport to bring raw materials.
This was further continued by Manshuklal Shah. The main thrust of
K.T.Group has been to provide solutions for people living in and around
Vasai. The K.T. & Company became dealers and agents for all kinds of fast moving consumer goods. It formally came into existence in the year 1965. This tradition is continued further today by its present Chairman Hasmukhbai Mansukhlal Shah continues the objective laid down by the founders with perseverance and tenacity.
